About the Role
We're looking for a DevOps engineer who loves AWS and building resilient systems that just work. You'll architect serverless pipelines with Lambda, manage databases that handle millions of rows, and ensure our platform scales smoothly from 100 to 10,000 customers without breaking a sweat.
This role is all about reliability, automation, and smart infrastructure decisions. You'll work across the full AWS stack, own our deployment pipelines, and help the team ship features confidently. We move fast but care deeply about uptime and data integrity. When things are humming along smoothly, we celebrate. When the pager goes off, we fix it together and make sure it doesn't happen again.
What You'll Do
- → Design and maintain AWS infrastructure using infrastructure as code (Terraform)
- → Build and optimize serverless pipelines using Lambda, SQS, and EventBridge
- → Manage production databases (RDS MySQL, ClickHouse)—backups, scaling, performance tuning
- → Build CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions for web, mobile, and backend deployments
- → Implement comprehensive monitoring, logging, and alerting (CloudWatch, Sentry)
- → Optimize infrastructure costs—we care about efficiency, not throwing money at problems
- → Be on-call rotation (shared with team, compensated, with clear runbooks)
What We're Looking For
- → 4+ years DevOps, platform, or SRE experience managing production systems
- → Expert AWS knowledge—Lambda, RDS, SQS, S3, CloudWatch, IAM, you know the drill
- → Infrastructure as code experience (Terraform preferred, CloudFormation acceptable)
- → Strong Linux/Unix skills and scripting (Bash, Python, or similar)
- → Experience with Docker and container orchestration
- → Understanding of networking, security best practices, and compliance requirements
- → Excellent troubleshooting skills—you can debug mysterious issues calmly
Bonus Points
- → ClickHouse administration experience (clustering, replication, performance)
- → Serverless architecture expertise—you've built event-driven systems before
- → GitHub Actions workflow optimization and custom action development
- → Experience with Laravel Vapor or similar serverless PHP deployments
- → Database performance tuning (MySQL query optimization, index strategies)
- → Early-stage startup experience—built infrastructure from scratch

- → On-Call Comp: Additional £500/week when on-call + time off after incidents
- → Health: Private medical insurance (Vitality or Bupa)
- → Time Off: 25 days + UK bank holidays + unlimited sick leave
- → Pension: 5% employer contribution
- → Learning: £2,000/year for AWS certs, courses, and conferences
- → Equipment: Latest MacBook Pro + home office setup
