8 Best Stripe Analytics Tools in 2026 (By Stage)

Matt Smith
By Matt Smith, Co-Founder & CEO · Updated July 2026
The short answer

For Stripe-only SaaS that wants live metrics and real mobile apps, Mowt ($79/month) is our top pick, with the disclosure that we build it. Stripe’s own reporting plus Sigma is the right base layer at every stage, ProfitWell Metrics is the free option, and ChartMogul wins once billing spans multiple systems.

Stripe knows everything about your revenue and shows you surprisingly little of it in the shape a SaaS operator needs. The Dashboard is built around payments, not subscriptions, so the moment you ask a question like "what’s the 6-month retention of customers who signed up in January" you’re either writing SQL in Sigma or shopping for one of the tools below.

This list is organised by stage because the right answer changes as you grow. A pre-revenue founder should not pay $375 a month for finance-grade analytics, and a $5M ARR company should not be running its board deck off a free tool with a 90-minute sync delay. Each entry carries a "Best for" label that maps to a stage or persona, real pricing with dates, and cons pulled from actual reviews rather than imagined ones.

One housekeeping note: QuantLedger, which appeared on lists like this in 2025, shut down in late 2025 with no migration path beyond a sunset page. If you see it recommended anywhere, the article is stale. That episode is also why our FAQ covers what happens to your data when an analytics tool dies (short version: nothing bad, your data lives in Stripe, not the tool).

The list

Every tool, in detail.

1.

Mowt

Best for Stripe-only SaaS from first customer to $500k MRR
Our product

Mowt is our product, so grade this entry accordingly: it’s the only tool on this list that pairs webhook-realtime Stripe metrics with iOS and Android apps at full feature parity.

Mowt listens to Stripe webhooks, so an upgrade, a cancellation or a failed payment lands on your dashboard in seconds rather than on the next batch cycle. Every other dedicated tool here syncs on an interval, from ChartMogul’s roughly 10-minute processing window to Baremetrics’ documented 2-hour cycle.

Setup is a one-click read-only Stripe OAuth that backfills your full history in minutes, and the reports cover MRR, ARR, churn, LTV, ARPU, net revenue retention, cohorts, segmentation and forecasting.

The mobile story is the part nothing else matches. Baremetrics ships iOS only, ChartMogul’s Android app trails its iOS app on features, and Chartsy, Putler, Fincome, Subscript and Mosaic are web-only. Mowt’s native iOS and Android apps carry every feature the web dashboard has, which matters more than it sounds if you’re a founder who checks numbers from the school run. Today 500+ founders track over $1B in revenue on it, with 99.9% uptime.

Now the honest limits. Mowt is Stripe-only: no Paddle, no Chargebee, no multi-source consolidation, and if you outgrow a single billing system you’ll outgrow us. Dunning and churn-busting tools are coming soon, not shipped, so there’s no equivalent to Baremetrics Recover yet.

We’re also younger than the incumbents with a smaller third-party review footprint, so don’t take our word for the accuracy: run the 7-day trial next to your Stripe dashboard and check the numbers match.

PricingStartup $79/month to $15k MRR, Growth $149 to $50k, Scale $249 to $100k, Pro $349 to $250k, Business $499 to $500k, Enterprise custom; 20% off annual. 7-day free trial, no card (July 2026, see <a href="/pricing" class="text-accent hover:underline">pricing</a>).
Start 7-day free trial
Where it shines
  • Realtime via Stripe webhooks; changes appear in seconds, no batch cycle
  • Native iOS and Android apps with full feature parity, unique on this list
  • One-click read-only Stripe OAuth with full history backfill in minutes
  • Flat MRR-tier pricing that stays under incumbent prices through $100k MRR
Where it falls short
  • Stripe-only; no Paddle, Chargebee or multi-source billing support
  • Dunning and churn-recovery tools are on the roadmap, not shipped (our own roadmap, stated plainly)
  • Smaller review footprint than Baremetrics or ChartMogul; verify against Stripe during the trial
2. Stripe Dashboard + Sigma

Stripe Dashboard + Sigma

Best for payments operations at every stage

Stripe’s own reporting is the base layer everyone should keep, and Sigma turns your account into a SQL database; what neither gives you is normalized subscription metrics.

Before buying anything, know what you already have. The Stripe Dashboard is genuinely good at payments operations: gross volume, disputes, refunds, payout reconciliation, declined-charge diagnostics, and radar-flagged fraud all live there with no extra tooling.

The Billing section shows an MRR figure and basic churn, and for a founder in the first months that’s often enough. It also updates live, because it is the source every other tool on this list syncs from.

Sigma is the power move. It exposes your entire Stripe account as SQL tables, so any question you can phrase as a query gets an exact answer: revenue by coupon code, refund rates by card country, time-to-first-payment by plan.

Teams with a data-comfortable person get enormous mileage from it, and scheduled Sigma queries can email a report on a cron. If you’re reconciling fees, our Stripe fee calculator covers the quick cases without a query.

The gaps are structural, not bugs. Stripe’s MRR is Stripe’s definition, with limited segmentation and no cohort retention view; per Stripe’s docs, anything deeper routes through Sigma, which means writing and maintaining SQL.

There’s no normalized treatment of proration, discounts and annual-plan smoothing the way dedicated metrics tools handle it, so two people can pull two different "MRR" numbers from the same account. Sigma is also a paid add-on billed on usage, so the free-feeling Dashboard quietly gains a line item once you depend on it.

PricingDashboard reporting is included with standard processing (2.9% + 30¢ per successful US card charge as of July 2026). Sigma is a usage-based add-on billed monthly per charge volume; Stripe shows your exact rate in the Dashboard, per its Sigma pricing page.
Where it shines
  • Payments ops (disputes, payouts, refunds, fraud) handled better than any third-party tool
  • Sigma answers arbitrary questions with exact SQL over your raw account data
  • Always live; it is the source of truth every other tool syncs from
  • Included Dashboard reporting costs nothing beyond your processing fees
Where it falls short
  • No normalized MRR, cohort retention or NRR views; Stripe’s Billing metrics use Stripe’s definitions with limited segmentation, per its own docs
  • Sigma requires writing and maintaining SQL; non-technical founders hit a wall fast
  • Sigma is a paid add-on billed monthly on account usage, on top of processing fees
3. ChartMogul

ChartMogul

Best for mid-market teams consolidating multiple billing systems

ChartMogul has the deepest cohort analysis in the category and unifies 25+ billing sources into one revenue view, free until you pass $120K ARR.

If your revenue arrives through Stripe plus Chargebee, Recurly, PayPal or a legacy system, ChartMogul is the consolidation play. It normalizes everything into one MRR model and its cohort analysis goes deeper than anything else here: retention curves segmented by signup month, plan, geography, ACV band or custom attributes.

The free Launch tier up to $120K ARR is the most generous entry point in the market, and Capterra reviewers rate it 4.7/5 across 44 reviews.

Freshness and accuracy are the recurring gripes. ChartMogul’s own help docs describe Stripe data as real-time with a roughly 10-minute processing window, while Braintree and HubSpot sync hourly and PayPal every 3 hours.

G2 reviewers praise the free tier but note data-accuracy issues needing manual reconciliation, and several long-time customers describe prices that doubled and then doubled again. In December 2025 the company’s status page logged data-processing delays that hit reporting, which is worth knowing if you plan to wire it into board reporting.

PricingFree to $120K ARR; Starter $69–$849/month by ARR ($59–$699 annual); Pro $99–$1,199/month; Enterprise from $19,900/year above $10M ARR. 17% annual discount (as of July 2026).
Where it shines
  • Category-best cohort analysis and segmentation
  • Consolidates 25+ billing platforms plus CSV into one normalized MRR
  • Free under $120K ARR; no per-seat charges on team access
  • Capterra 4.7/5 across 44 reviews, praised for UI and visualization
Where it falls short
  • Roughly 10-minute processing delay on Stripe, hourly to 3-hourly on other sources, per its help docs
  • G2 reviewers report data-accuracy issues requiring manual reconciliation, and documented price escalation over time
  • Android app trails iOS significantly on features (no chart sharing or multi-account support per the current Play Store listing)
  • Costs climb with each ARR band; Starter alone reaches $849/month at the top band, with no flat-rate option
4. ProfitWell Metrics (by Paddle)

ProfitWell Metrics (by Paddle)

Best for pre-revenue and early-stage teams on a $0 budget

ProfitWell Metrics is still completely free in 2026, covers the full core metric set, and benchmarks you against 30,000+ subscription companies.

Paddle paid $200M for ProfitWell in May 2022 and keeps Metrics free as a funnel into its paid billing and retention products. For a company that hasn’t raised and hasn’t crossed meaningful MRR, that deal is hard to argue with: MRR, churn, LTV, ARPU, cohorts and industry benchmarking for exactly $0, with native iOS and Android apps included.

You pay in freshness and momentum instead. Paddle’s own help docs say manual and API-driven changes can take up to 90 minutes to reflect, Capterra reviewers describe the interface as essentially unchanged for five-plus years, and mobile push notifications have a documented reputation on G2 and Capterra for staying silent when a payment fails.

One G2 reviewer also reported a 10x price increase on the paid Paddle side after a support ticket, which is worth remembering if you plan to grow into the ecosystem. Fine as a starting point; most teams graduate once they’re watching revenue daily.

PricingFree (as of July 2026). Paid Paddle products (Retain, billing) are quoted separately; one G2 reviewer reported a 10x increase on that paid side.
Where it shines
  • Genuinely free with no feature paywall
  • Benchmarking against 30,000+ subscription companies built in
  • Native iOS and Android apps
  • Quick Stripe setup; automatic syncing praised in reviews
Where it falls short
  • Up to 90-minute sync delay on manual and API changes, per Paddle’s own help docs
  • Capterra reviewers describe a UI essentially unchanged in 5+ years and slow support responses
  • Mobile payment-failure notifications are unreliable, per G2 and Capterra reviews
5. Baremetrics

Baremetrics

Best for growth-stage teams that want dunning in the same suite

Baremetrics is the broadest paid suite here, with 28+ metrics and real dunning via its Recover add-on, if you can live with a 2-hour sync.

Baremetrics tracks 28+ metrics across Stripe, Braintree, Recurly and Chargebee, and it’s the only dedicated metrics tool on this list with shipped failed-payment recovery (Recover, $129/month extra) and cancellation-insight surveys.

G2 reviewers score it 4.6/5 across 98 reviews as of February 2026, with consistent praise for the UI and support. For a growth-stage team that wants metrics plus dunning from one vendor, it’s the incumbent answer.

The caveats have been stable for years. Its own help center documents a 2-hour data sync cycle despite real-time marketing language, so a churned customer can look active until the next cycle runs. Capterra reviewers report inconsistent metrics and duplicate entries when combining multiple payment sources, and one described account data being accidentally deleted (small sample: 3 Capterra reviews against G2’s 98).

Private equity firm Xenon Partners bought the company for $4M in November 2020, and Hacker News commenters who switched away attribute a slow visible roadmap to the change. Mobile is iOS only, with nothing on the Play Store as of June 2026.

PricingLaunch $75/month to $360K ARR, Growth $255 to $3.6M ARR, Scale $1,152/month above. Recover and Cancellation Insights are $129/month each; 35% annual discount (as of July 2026).
Where it shines
  • 28+ metrics in one dashboard across four billing platforms
  • Recover add-on does real, shipped dunning work
  • G2 4.6/5 across 98 reviews (Feb 2026); support and UI consistently praised
  • Automated email reports and Slack notifications
Where it falls short
  • 2-hour data sync cycle, documented in its own help center
  • Capterra reviewers report inconsistent metrics and duplicate entries with multiple sources
  • iOS app only; no Android app on the Play Store as of June 2026
  • Slow visible roadmap since the 2020 Xenon Partners acquisition, per Hacker News commenters who switched
6. Chartsy

Chartsy

Best for solo founders who’d rather ask questions than build dashboards

Chartsy skips dashboards for an AI chat interface: you ask questions about your Stripe or Paddle revenue in plain English and get charts back, with a free tier of 10 prompts a month.

Founded by Serena Prifti, Chartsy takes a different bet from everything else on this list. Instead of preset dashboards, you type questions ("show MRR by plan for the last 6 months") and its AI generates the chart and a natural-language read of the trend.

It computes MRR, ARR, churn, LTV and cohorts from raw invoice data across Stripe, Paddle and BigCommerce, and exports clean PDFs and PNGs for investor updates. For a solo founder without a data person, the pitch is real.

It’s also early. Its own help docs list hourly sync for BigCommerce and Paddle Classic (Stripe is marketed as real-time with no documented interval), there are no mobile apps, and paid pricing isn’t transparently published beyond a "starting at $19/month" reference; Pro and Enterprise numbers sit behind a signup wall.

The review footprint on G2 and Capterra is close to zero, so you’re trusting your own trial rather than a body of third-party evidence. The unresolved question with any natural-language-to-metrics tool is what happens when the AI misreads your question; there’s no published accuracy documentation.

PricingFree tier: 10 prompts/month. Paid plans referenced from $19/month, with Pro (200 prompts/month) and Enterprise pricing behind a signup wall (as of July 2026).
Where it shines
  • Natural-language questions instead of dashboard configuration; no SQL
  • Covers Stripe and Paddle, unlike Stripe-only rivals
  • Free tier (10 prompts/month) to test the concept risk-free
  • Clean PDF and PNG chart exports for investor updates
Where it falls short
  • Hourly sync on BigCommerce and Paddle Classic per its help docs, against real-time positioning
  • Paid tier pricing not transparently published; only "starting at $19/month" is referenced publicly
  • Near-zero independent review presence on G2 or Capterra, so no third-party accuracy evidence
  • Web only; no mobile apps
7. Putler

Putler

Best for founders mixing SaaS subscriptions with eCommerce sales

Putler consolidates 17+ sources including PayPal, Shopify, Amazon and Stripe from $20/month, and has run bootstrapped and profitable since 2007.

If your revenue is part subscriptions, part one-off sales across marketplaces, Putler is built for exactly that mess. It pulls PayPal, Stripe, Shopify, WooCommerce, Amazon, eBay and Etsy into one dashboard, auto-cleans the data (deduplication, currency conversion, timezone alignment), and layers RFM segmentation with 11 automatic customer segments on top.

Capterra reviewers rate it 4.8/5 across 32 reviews and repeatedly mention the sub-5-minute setup. Founder Nirav Mehta has run it without VC money for nearly two decades, so acquisition risk is low.

The catch for a pure SaaS company: it’s an eCommerce tool first. Capterra reviewers describe the SaaS metrics as not its strongest feature, payments take 15 to 30 minutes to appear per a verified review, and there’s no mobile app, with several reviewers calling the mobile browser experience buggy. Some also report support waits stretching to three weeks. Buy it for multi-channel consolidation, not for subscription-metric depth.

Pricing$20/month up to $10K MRR, scaling to $2,250/month at $3–5M MRR. 14-day trial, no card; 50% nonprofit discount (as of July 2026).
Where it shines
  • Consolidates 17+ payment and sales channels into one view
  • RFM segmentation with 11 automatic customer segments
  • Cheapest paid entry on this list at $20/month
  • Bootstrapped since 2007; no acquisition or shutdown drama likely
Where it falls short
  • 15 to 30 minute lag before payments appear, per a verified Capterra review
  • SaaS metrics described by reviewers as weaker than its eCommerce features
  • No mobile app, and reviewers call the mobile browser experience rough
  • Support responsiveness inconsistent; some Capterra reviewers report 3-week waits
8. Fincome

Fincome

Best for finance teams at $1M–$10M ARR, especially in Europe

Fincome is finance-grade subscription analytics without SQL, priced from $4,500/year, with the fastest-moving roadmap of the young entrants here.

Founded in France in 2022 by a former private-equity investor and a data scientist, Fincome targets the finance team rather than the founder’s phone. It automates MRR, ARR, churn, CAC, LTV, cohorts and growth-scenario simulation, shows no per-seat charges on its published price list, and now processes 100+ million invoice lines daily for 200+ SaaS customers.

G2 and Capterra reviewers consistently praise the support team’s speed and how quickly user feedback ships, and its NetSuite integration signals where it’s headed: proper finance-ops territory.

The gaps match its age. The integrations page marks most platforms (Chargebee, QuickBooks, Xero, Recurly, Braintree, Slack) as coming soon, with Stripe, Pennylane, NetSuite, HubSpot and Salesforce confirmed working.

Capterra reviewers flag the $4,500/year entry price as a barrier for early-stage startups, note that data migration from spreadsheets takes real manual effort despite the automation pitch, and it says "real-time" on the site without documenting an actual refresh interval. Web only, no mobile apps. Not for pre-seed; a good shortlist candidate once a finance hire owns your metrics.

PricingARR-based annual tiers: $4,500/year under $1M ARR, $6,000 to $3M, $9,000 to $5M, $15,000 to $10M, custom above (as of July 2026). No per-seat charges appear on the published price list.
Where it shines
  • Automated finance-grade KPI calculation without SQL or a data team
  • No per-seat pricing; built for cross-team finance visibility
  • Reviewers on G2 and Capterra praise fast support and a rapidly shipping roadmap
  • NetSuite and Pennylane integrations reach into accounting, not just billing
Where it falls short
  • Most integrations still marked "coming soon" on its own integrations page as of July 2026
  • $4,500/year minimum is steep for early-stage, per Capterra reviewers
  • Refresh interval undocumented despite real-time marketing; spreadsheet migration takes manual effort per reviews
  • Web only; no mobile apps

What the paid tools cost at three MRR levels

At $10k MRR ($120K ARR): Mowt $79/month, Baremetrics $75, ChartMogul free (you’re at the edge of its $120K ARR tier), Putler $20, Fincome $375/month equivalent. At $40k MRR ($480K ARR): Mowt $149, Baremetrics $255 (Growth tier), ChartMogul Starter scaling by ARR, Fincome $375.

At $100k MRR ($1.2M ARR): Mowt $249, Baremetrics $255 plus $258 if you take both add-ons, Fincome $500/month equivalent. All prices as of July 2026.

Two adjacent numbers worth checking while you’re here: what Stripe itself takes off every charge, and what your growth trajectory does to these tiers over 12 months with our MRR forecaster.

Decision framework

How to choose by stage

A Stripe analytics stack has three jobs: payments operations, subscription metrics, and forecasting. Stripe itself already does the first job well, so what you’re really buying is the second and third.

Pre-revenue to ~$5k MRR: spend nothing. Stripe’s Dashboard plus ProfitWell Metrics (free) or ChartMogul’s free tier covers everything you need. Your job at this stage is getting revenue, not analyzing it.

$5k to $50k MRR: this is where sync lag starts to hurt, because you’re watching revenue daily and making pricing and retention calls off the numbers. A dedicated realtime tool (Mowt, $79 to $149/month at this range) or Baremetrics ($75 to $255) earns its cost the first time you catch a failed payment or a churn spike the same hour it happens. If you’d rather chat than dashboard, Chartsy’s free tier is a cheap experiment.

$50k to $300k MRR: your billing may be diversifying and someone besides the founder now reads the metrics. If you’re still Stripe-only, Mowt ($249 to $349) or Baremetrics remain the fit; the moment a second billing system arrives, ChartMogul becomes the default. Add Sigma if anyone on the team writes SQL, because ad-hoc questions multiply at this stage.

$300k MRR and beyond: a finance hire changes the requirements from dashboards to finance ops. Fincome, or at the heavier end Maxio, Mosaic and Subscript, live in that world (revenue recognition, multi-entity, board packs), with implementation timelines and price tags to match. Most companies at this stage keep a realtime metrics tool alongside, because a finance platform that closes the month is not the thing you check at 7am.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Can Stripe show MRR?

Yes, partially. The Stripe Dashboard’s Billing section shows an MRR figure and basic churn using Stripe’s own definitions. What it can’t do is normalized MRR movements, cohort retention or segmentation; per Stripe’s docs those questions route to Sigma and SQL, which is exactly the gap dedicated MRR tools fill.

Is Stripe Sigma worth it?

Worth it if someone on your team writes SQL and you have ad-hoc questions dashboards can’t answer, like revenue by coupon or refund rates by country. Not worth it as your only subscription-metrics layer: you’d be hand-building MRR normalization and cohorts that dedicated tools ship on day one.

What is the best free Stripe analytics tool?

ProfitWell Metrics, which stays fully free under Paddle’s ownership and covers MRR, churn, LTV and benchmarking. ChartMogul is also free under $120K ARR with better cohort analysis. Both update in batches (up to 90 minutes for ProfitWell per Paddle’s help docs), which is the main trade-off.

Which Stripe analytics tools have real mobile apps?

Mowt ships native iOS and Android apps with full feature parity. ChartMogul has both platforms but its Android app trails iOS on features. ProfitWell has both with reviewer-reported notification reliability issues. Baremetrics is iOS only, and Chartsy, Putler, Fincome, Subscript and Mosaic are web only as of June 2026.

Why does my analytics tool show different MRR than Stripe?

Because every tool normalizes annual plans, proration, discounts, trials and refunds differently, and Stripe’s Billing metric uses its own definitions too. Small differences are normal; large ones mean a definition mismatch. Check each vendor’s method against our MRR calculation guide before assuming a bug.

Does a 2-hour sync delay actually matter?

Depends on how you operate. For a monthly board review, no. For an operator watching revenue daily, yes: a big customer who churns at 9am can look active until 11 on Baremetrics’ documented 2-hour cycle. Webhook-based tools like Mowt reflect the same event in seconds.

What happens to my data if my analytics tool shuts down?

You lose dashboards and annotations, not revenue data, because every tool here reads from Stripe rather than storing your source of truth. When QuantLedger shut down in late 2025, customers reconnected a new tool and rebuilt full history from their Stripe account in minutes.

Can I run two Stripe analytics tools at the same time?

Yes, and you should during evaluation. Each connects to Stripe read-only, so nothing conflicts. Run two side by side for a week, diff their MRR and churn numbers against Stripe itself, and keep whichever matches your hand calculation and your workflow.

Is ChartMogul’s free tier enough for an early-stage startup?

Usually, yes. Free under $120K ARR gets you core metrics and the category’s best cohort analysis. The limits that push people off it are the roughly 10-minute processing window, ARR-based price scaling once you cross the threshold, and an Android app that trails iOS.

Do these tools need write access to my Stripe account?

No. Every analytics tool on this list connects with read-only access, typically via Stripe OAuth or a restricted API key. None of them can modify subscriptions, issue refunds or touch payouts. If a tool asks for write permissions for analytics alone, that’s a reason to walk away.

How much should I spend on Stripe analytics by stage?

Under $5k MRR: $0 (Stripe Dashboard plus a free tool). $5k to $50k: $75 to $150/month buys realtime data and mobile access. $50k to $300k: $250 to $500/month, adding Sigma if you have SQL skills. Beyond that, finance platforms start at $4,500/year and climb steeply.

What’s the difference between a metrics tool and a billing platform?

Metrics tools (Mowt, ChartMogul, Baremetrics, ProfitWell) read your billing data and report on it. Billing platforms (Maxio, Subscript, Stripe Billing itself) create the invoices and manage revenue recognition. Maxio starts at $599/month and Subscript around $24,000/year, reflecting that heavier job.

Which tool is most accurate for churn rate?

None is inherently "most accurate"; they define churn differently (customer vs revenue churn, trial handling, reactivations). Pick a definition, verify the tool matches it against a hand count from Stripe, then benchmark it using our churn calculation guide.
