Putler alternatives built for SaaS metrics first

The short answer

Putler is a capable multi-channel eCommerce dashboard, but if Stripe subscriptions are your whole business, Mowt gives you realtime metrics and native mobile apps from $79/month. Need cohort depth across several billing systems? ChartMogul is free under $120K ARR. Want dunning built in? Baremetrics starts at $75/month.

The reasons people search this

Why teams move on from Putler.

01

Payments take 15 to 30 minutes to show up

Putler advertises a live activity feed, but a verified Capterra reviewer reported a 15 to 30 minute lag before payment updates appear on the dashboard, and other reviewers describe occasional slow imports from integrations. That gap is fine for reviewing yesterday's Etsy sales. It's frustrating when you've just launched a price change and want to watch subscriptions land as they happen.

02

No mobile app, and the mobile browser experience has bugs

There's no Putler app on the App Store or Play Store. Reviewers describe the mobile browser experience as weak and occasionally buggy, and some resort to pinning a website shortcut to their phone's home screen as a workaround. Every other tool on this page ships at least an iOS app; two ship Android as well.

03

SaaS metrics are breadth over depth, by Putler's own reviewers' account

Putler tracks MRR, churn and LTV alongside sales heatmaps, product leaderboards and RFM segments, and reviewers say the subscription metrics are "not their strongest feature" as a result. Capterra reviewers also mention dashboard overwhelm, with many parameters on screen and metric definitions that aren't always clear. When you consider that dedicated subscription tools publish exactly how they calculate churn and normalize annual plans, a generalist dashboard starts to feel like the wrong shape for the job.

What Putler still does well

Putler deserves its 4.8/5 Capterra rating (32 reviews). No other tool on this page consolidates PayPal, Stripe, Shopify, WooCommerce, Amazon, eBay and Etsy, 17+ sources in total, into one view, and its automatic data cleanup quietly fixes deduplication, currency conversion and timezone problems that would otherwise be your problem. The RFM segmentation, 11 automatic customer segments, is genuinely useful for merchandising decisions and doesn't exist in any subscription-first tool here.

On price, entry pricing is the lowest in this comparison at $20/month up to $10K MRR, there's a 50% nonprofit discount, and the company has run bootstrapped under founder Nirav Mehta since 2007, which is its own kind of reliability. If your revenue is genuinely multi-channel, Putler is doing a job nothing else on this page attempts.

Baremetrics

Baremetrics

Best for a broad subscription suite with dunning

Baremetrics is the fullest subscription-only suite here: 28+ metrics, four billing integrations, and a real payment-recovery add-on, from $75/month.

Where Putler spreads across sales channels, Baremetrics goes all-in on subscriptions. One dashboard covers MRR, ARR, churn, LTV, trial insights, upgrades and downgrades across Stripe, Braintree, Recurly and Chargebee, and its Recover add-on ($129/month) chases failed payments for you. That's a shipped answer to involuntary churn, which Putler doesn't attempt at all.

It's not fast, though. Baremetrics' own help center documents a 2-hour data sync cycle, so a cancellation at 9am can sit invisible until 11. Mobile means an iOS app only, with nothing on the Play Store as of June 2026. And the reviews split oddly: G2 rates it 4.6/5 across 98 reviews, while the handful of Capterra reviewers report inconsistent metrics and duplicate entries when combining payment sources.

Price is the other thing to model before you commit. Launch is $75/month to $360K ARR, Growth jumps to $255/month, and each add-on is another $129/month (as of July 2026). Coming from Putler's $20 entry point, that's a real step up, so make sure you'll actually use the extra surface area.

ChartMogul

ChartMogul

Best for cohort depth and multi-source billing

ChartMogul has the deepest cohort analysis in this category and the most generous free tier: full core metrics at $0 until you pass $120K ARR.

ChartMogul is the analyst's pick. Its cohort analysis slices retention by signup month, plan, geography and custom attributes in ways Putler's 80/20 breakdowns can't approach, and it normalizes 25+ billing sources (Stripe, Chargebee, Recurly, Paddle, even CSV imports) into one revenue model.

Capterra reviewers rate it 4.7/5 across 44 reviews and single out the retention curves and churn heatmaps.

The overlap with Putler is smaller than it looks. ChartMogul consolidates billing systems; Putler consolidates sales channels. If your "multiple sources" are Stripe plus Chargebee, ChartMogul handles it. If they're Stripe plus Etsy plus Amazon, it doesn't, because marketplaces aren't billing systems.

Two caveats from its own docs and reviewers. Stripe data goes through roughly a 10-minute processing window (faster than Putler's lag, still not instant), and some long-time customers on G2 describe prices doubling and then doubling again as their ARR grew. The Android app also trails iOS on features, so mobile parity isn't solved here either.

ProfitWell Metrics is entirely free, covers the core subscription metrics, and benchmarks you against data from 30,000+ subscription companies.

If Putler's $20/month made you wince, ProfitWell removes the number entirely. Paddle acquired ProfitWell for $200M in May 2022 and keeps Metrics free as a funnel into its paid billing products, so you get MRR, churn, LTV, ARPU and cohort views at $0, plus native iOS and Android apps, which is two more mobile apps than Putler ships.

Free has a shape, though. Paddle's own help docs say manual and API customer changes can take up to 90 minutes to reflect, Capterra reviewers describe an interface that hasn't meaningfully changed in five-plus years, and both G2 and Capterra reviewers report mobile payment alerts that don't reliably fire. Reporting granularity is monthly only, which reviewers wanting weekly views call out.

It also does nothing for your eCommerce channels. ProfitWell reads billing systems (Stripe, Chargebee, Braintree, Recurly and others), not marketplaces, so a Putler user with Amazon or Etsy revenue would be dropping that visibility entirely.

Mowt

Best for realtime Stripe metrics with real mobile apps
Our product

Mowt is our product, so read this entry with that in mind: it's built for exactly the founder who liked Putler but needs subscription depth, live data and a phone app.

Mowt does one thing narrowly and quickly. It listens to Stripe webhooks, so a new subscription, an upgrade or a failed payment appears on your dashboard in seconds rather than after a 15-to-30-minute lag or a 2-hour batch. The metric set is subscription-native all the way down: MRR, ARR, churn, LTV, ARPU, net revenue retention, cohorts, segmentation and forecasting, each with its definition stated so you're never guessing what a number means.

And the mobile story is the one Putler reviewers keep asking for: native iOS and Android apps with full feature parity, every chart and cohort view, not a cut-down summary.

Setup is a one-click read-only Stripe OAuth that backfills your full history in minutes. Today 500+ founders track over $1B in revenue on it, at 99.9% uptime.

Now the honest part. Mowt is Stripe-only: no PayPal, no Shopify, no marketplaces, no multi-source anything, so if your Putler dashboard mixes real eCommerce revenue with subscriptions, Mowt only replaces the subscription half. Dunning and churn-busting tools are coming soon, not shipped, so there's no Recover equivalent yet.

And we're younger than everything else here, with a smaller review footprint, which is why the 7-day trial exists: run it next to your Stripe dashboard and check every number before you pay.

The other side

When Putler is actually the better choice.

Keep Putler if your revenue genuinely spans channels. Nothing here reads Amazon, eBay, Etsy or Shopify alongside PayPal and Stripe, and nothing here does RFM segmentation. A store owner running WooCommerce plus a small subscription line is squarely Putler's customer, and at $20/month it's the cheapest paid option on this page. The switch only makes sense when subscriptions stop being one revenue stream among several and become the business.

Before you switch

Migration notes.

  • Subscription-first tools rebuild your metrics from Stripe's full history, so you keep Putler running while you trial a replacement. Nothing about connecting a second read-only tool conflicts.

  • Expect your MRR to move a little between tools. Putler, ChartMogul, Baremetrics and Mowt each normalize annual plans, proration and refunds slightly differently; check definitions against our MRR glossary entry before calling any number wrong.

  • If PayPal or marketplace revenue flows through your Putler dashboard, decide where that reporting lives after the switch. Subscription tools won't carry it, so some teams keep a cheap Putler plan for eCommerce and move only subscriptions.

  • Export any RFM segments or customer lists you act on. Those are Putler-specific and won't regenerate anywhere else.

  • Re-run your churn number in the new tool for the last 6 months and compare. Our churn rate calculator is a quick neutral check on both.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Is Putler good for SaaS subscription analytics?

It covers MRR, churn, LTV and forecasting, but Putler is eCommerce-first by design and its own reviewers describe SaaS metrics as not its strongest feature. For subscription-only businesses, dedicated tools like Mowt, ChartMogul or Baremetrics go deeper on cohorts, retention and metric definitions.

Does Putler have a mobile app?

No. Putler is web-only as of July 2026, with no iOS or Android app, and reviewers report a buggy mobile browser experience; some pin a home-screen shortcut as a workaround. Mowt and ProfitWell ship both iOS and Android apps; Baremetrics ships iOS only.

How much does Putler cost in 2026?

Putler uses revenue-based pricing: $20/month up to $10K MRR, scaling to $2,250/month at $3M to $5M MRR (as of July 2026). There's a 14-day free trial with no card required and a 50% nonprofit discount. Custom plans are available above those tiers.

Is Putler data real-time?

Not quite. Putler mentions a live activity feed, but a verified Capterra reviewer reported payments taking 15 to 30 minutes to appear, and others mention slow imports from some integrations. Webhook-driven tools like Mowt show Stripe subscription events in seconds.

What is the best Putler alternative for Stripe subscriptions?

Mowt, if Stripe is your only billing system: realtime data, native mobile apps, from $79/month. ChartMogul if you combine several billing systems (free under $120K ARR). Baremetrics if you want dunning built in at $75/month. None of them replace Putler's marketplace coverage.

Can I keep Putler for eCommerce and use Mowt for SaaS metrics?

Yes, and it's a sensible split. Both connect read-only, so they don't conflict. Putler keeps consolidating PayPal, Shopify and marketplace sales while Mowt handles the subscription side with live Stripe data. Run the 7-day trial in parallel and compare the MRR figures against Stripe directly.

Who makes Putler and is it still maintained?

Putler was founded in 2007 by Nirav Mehta, operates under the Apps Magnet umbrella, and has stayed bootstrapped with no VC funding or acquisition. It's actively maintained, recently adding an AI assistant called Putler Copilot, and holds a 4.8/5 rating across 32 Capterra reviews.
