7 Best Baremetrics Alternatives in 2026 (Ranked & Fact-Checked)

Matt Smith
By Matt Smith, Co-Founder & CEO · Updated July 2026
The short answer

For Stripe-only SaaS that wants live numbers and real mobile apps, Mowt ($79/month) is the pick. ChartMogul wins for multi-source billing and cohorts (free under $120K ARR). ProfitWell Metrics is still the best free dashboard. Maxio only makes sense if you need billing and revenue recognition too.

Baremetrics is a fine product with a specific set of trade-offs, and people usually go hunting for an alternative after hitting one of three. First, freshness: Baremetrics markets real-time analytics, but its own help center describes a 2-hour data sync cycle, so a churned customer can sit on your dashboard as "active" for most of a morning.

Second, price: Launch is $75/month up to $360K ARR, Growth jumps to $255/month, Scale runs $1,152/month, and the Recover and Cancellation Insights add-ons cost $129/month each (all as of July 2026). Third, mobile: there is a native iPhone app, but nothing on the Play Store as of June 2026, so Android users are stuck with a laptop.

None of those are dealbreakers for everyone. A 2-hour lag is irrelevant if you check MRR once a month before a board meeting, and Recover does genuine dunning work most younger tools have not shipped.

But if any of the three made you search for this page, the seven tools below each fix at least one of them. We ranked them by how well they serve the typical Baremetrics refugee: a Stripe-billing SaaS between roughly $5k and $250k MRR.

How we evaluated

We run Mowt on our own Stripe account, so the realtime numbers for our product are first-hand. For every other tool we worked from its published documentation and sync-interval help articles (Baremetrics documents a 2-hour cycle, ChartMogul a 10-minute processing window, ProfitWell up to 90 minutes).

We re-read every pricing page in the first week of July 2026, and went through G2, Capterra and TrustRadius reviews, only citing complaints that recur across multiple reviewers. Mowt is our product and its entry says so.

The list

Every tool, in detail.

1.

Mowt

Best for Stripe-only SaaS that wants realtime data and real mobile apps
Our product

Mowt is our product, so grade this entry accordingly: it is the only tool on this list with webhook-realtime data and full-parity iOS and Android apps.

Mowt subscribes to Stripe webhooks, which means an upgrade, cancellation or failed payment lands on your dashboard in seconds rather than on the next sync cycle. In our June 2026 timing test it was the only tool where the new subscription appeared before we could switch browser tabs.

The native iOS and Android apps carry every feature the web dashboard has, including cohorts, churn, LTV, NRR and forecasting, not a cut-down summary view. Among the seven tools here, four have no mobile app at all and the other two ship apps with known gaps, so that combination is genuinely narrow but genuinely unique.

Setup is a one-click read-only Stripe OAuth that backfills your full history in minutes. 500+ founders currently track over $1B in revenue on it, at 99.9% uptime.

What it doesn't do: anything outside Stripe. There's no Paddle, Chargebee or multi-source support, and dunning plus churn-busting tools are coming soon rather than shipped, so Baremetrics Recover has no Mowt equivalent today. We're also younger than the incumbents, with a smaller third-party review footprint. The honest way to evaluate us is the 7-day trial run side by side with your Stripe dashboard, checking that the numbers match.

PricingStartup $79/month to $15k MRR, Growth $149 to $50k, Scale $249 to $100k, Pro $349 to $250k, Business $499 to $500k, Enterprise custom; 20% off annual. 7-day free trial, no card (July 2026, see <a href="/pricing" class="text-accent hover:underline">pricing</a>).
Start 7-day free trial
Where it shines
  • Realtime via Stripe webhooks; no 2-hour or nightly batch cycle
  • Native iOS and Android apps with full feature parity, unique in this field
  • One-click read-only Stripe OAuth with full history backfill in minutes
  • Flat MRR-tier pricing that is cheaper than Baremetrics Growth at every point past $360K ARR
Where it falls short
  • Stripe-only: no Paddle, Chargebee, Braintree or multi-source consolidation
  • Dunning and churn-recovery tools are on the roadmap, not shipped, so there is no Recover equivalent yet
  • Smaller third-party review footprint than Baremetrics or ChartMogul; verify our numbers against Stripe during the trial
2. ChartMogul

ChartMogul

Best for multi-source billing and deep cohort analysis

ChartMogul is the analytical heavyweight: 25+ billing integrations, the deepest cohort tooling in the category, and free until you pass $120K ARR.

If your revenue flows through more than Stripe, ChartMogul is the default answer. It normalizes Stripe, Chargebee, Recurly, PayPal, Paddle and a long tail of other sources into one MRR view, and its cohort analysis lets you slice retention by signup month, plan, geography and custom attributes in a way nothing else on this page matches.

Founded in 2014 and still independent, it has outlasted two of its early rivals getting acquired. Capterra reviewers rate it 4.7/5 across 44 reviews and consistently praise the visualization quality.

The catch is speed and price trajectory. ChartMogul's own help docs describe Stripe data as real-time with a 10-minute processing window, while Braintree and HubSpot sync hourly and PayPal every 3 hours; in our June test the new subscription showed up around the 10-minute mark.

G2 reviewers also report price increases over time, with some describing prices doubling and then doubling again, and the paid tiers scale with ARR (Starter $59 to $699/month on annual billing, $69 to $849 billed monthly; Pro $99 to $1,199/month). The Android app trails iOS noticeably: per the Play Store listing it lacks chart sharing and multi-account support that the iPhone version has.

PricingFree under $120K ARR; Starter $69 to $849/month by ARR, dropping to $59 to $699 on annual billing; Pro $99 to $1,199/month; Enterprise from $19,900/year. 17% annual discount (as of July 2026).
Where it shines
  • Deepest cohort analysis and segmentation in the category
  • Consolidates 25+ billing sources into one normalized MRR figure
  • Free Launch tier under $120K ARR is the most generous entry point on this list
  • No per-seat charges for team members on analytics plans
Where it falls short
  • Documented 10-minute processing window on Stripe, hourly or slower for other sources (per ChartMogul help docs)
  • G2 reviewers report repeated price increases, with costs scaling linearly as ARR grows
  • Android app has significantly fewer features than iOS, per the store listings
  • Users on G2 and Capterra mention sync discrepancies against their billing system requiring manual reconciliation
3. ProfitWell Metrics (by Paddle)

ProfitWell Metrics is still completely free in 2026, four years after the Paddle acquisition, and no paid tool here can argue with $0.

Paddle bought ProfitWell for $200M in May 2022 and keeps Metrics free as a funnel into its paid billing and retention products. You get MRR, churn, LTV, ARPU, cohort views and benchmarking against 30,000+ subscription companies for nothing, with a Stripe connection that reviewers consistently describe as painless.

For a pre-revenue or sub-$10k MRR startup, spending anything on analytics before you have revenue worth analyzing is hard to justify, and this is why.

Free comes with a maintenance-mode feel. Paddle's own help docs say manual and API customer changes can take up to 90 minutes to reflect in dashboards. Capterra reviewers describe the interface as essentially unchanged for years and complain about slow or absent support responses.

The iOS and Android apps exist, which beats most of this list, but G2 and Capterra reviewers report payment-problem notifications that simply fail to arrive. And one long-time customer on G2 reported a 10x price increase on the paid Paddle side after a support ticket, so treat the free tier as the product, not a stepping stone.

PricingFree (all Metrics features). Paid Paddle products (Retain, billing) are quoted separately; one G2 reviewer reported a 10x increase on enterprise pricing (as of July 2026).
Where it shines
  • Genuinely free with no feature paywall
  • Benchmarking against 30,000+ subscription companies built in
  • Native iOS and Android apps, one of only three tools here with any mobile presence
  • Five-minute Stripe setup that reviewers consistently rate as easy
Where it falls short
  • Up to 90-minute delay for manual and API changes, per Paddle's own help docs
  • Capterra reviewers describe the UI as unchanged for five-plus years and support as slow to nonexistent
  • Mobile push notifications unreliable for payment alerts, per G2 and Capterra reviews
4. Fincome

Fincome

Best for European finance teams past $1M ARR

Fincome is the finance-team pick: automated KPI calculation with no per-seat pricing and native Pennylane and NetSuite hooks, priced from $4,500/year.

Fincome is a French platform (founded 2022 by Vincent Gouedard and Lucas Gonzalez, backed by Accel) that treats subscription analytics as a finance-ops problem rather than a founder-dashboard problem. It automates MRR, ARR, churn, CAC, LTV, cohort and renewal calculations across Stripe, Pennylane, NetSuite, HubSpot and Salesforce, with no per-seat charges on its published price list and unlimited data exports.

It processes 100+ million invoice lines daily for 200+ SaaS customers as of 2026, and reviewers on G2 and Capterra repeatedly single out the support team's responsiveness and the pace of feature releases.

The fit is specific. Pricing starts at $4,500/year for companies under $1M ARR, which Capterra reviewers flag as a barrier for early-stage startups, and climbs to $15,000/year at $7-10M ARR. Much of the integration catalog (Chargebee, QuickBooks, Xero, Recurly, Braintree, Slack) is marked "coming soon" on Fincome's own integrations page, so check that your stack is actually supported before a demo.

It claims real-time KPI monitoring but does not document an exact refresh interval, it is web-only with no mobile apps, and Capterra reviewers note it lacks the multi-entity and multi-currency views larger enterprises need.

Pricing$4,500/year under $1M ARR; $6,000/year to $3M; $9,000/year to $5M; $15,000/year to $10M; custom above. No per-seat charges appear on the published price list (as of July 2026).
Where it shines
  • Automated KPI engine built for finance teams, no SQL or data team required
  • No per-seat charges on the published price list; unlimited exports
  • Native accounting-stack integrations (Pennylane, NetSuite) that pure analytics tools skip
  • Reviewers on G2 and Capterra consistently praise support speed and shipping pace
Where it falls short
  • Starts at $4,500/year even under $1M ARR, which Capterra reviewers call steep for early-stage teams
  • Most listed integrations are "coming soon" per Fincome's own integrations page as of July 2026
  • Web-only, no mobile apps, and the exact data-refresh interval is undocumented
5. Putler

Putler

Best for mixed SaaS and eCommerce revenue

Putler consolidates 17+ payment and sales channels, PayPal to Shopify to Stripe, from $20/month, and has run bootstrapped and profitable since 2007.

If subscriptions are only part of your revenue, Putler earns its slot. It pulls PayPal, Stripe, Shopify, WooCommerce, Amazon, eBay, Etsy and more into one dashboard, layers RFM segmentation with 11 automatic customer segments on top, and automatically cleans data problems like duplicates, currency conversion and timezone drift. Capterra reviewers rate it 4.8/5 across 32 reviews and regularly mention the five-minute setup.

At $20/month up to $10K MRR it is also the cheapest paid entry point on this list by a wide margin.

It is an eCommerce tool that does SaaS metrics, not the other way round. Capterra reviewers describe the subscription metrics as not its strongest feature, payments take 15 to 30 minutes to appear on the dashboard per a verified Capterra review, and there is no mobile app; several reviewers call the mobile browser experience buggy enough that they gave up on it.

Some also find the dashboard overwhelming, with more parameters than a focused SaaS operator needs. Pure-subscription businesses should look at Mowt or ChartMogul first.

Pricing$20/month up to $10K MRR, scaling to $2,250/month at $3-5M MRR. 14-day free trial, no card; 50% nonprofit discount (as of July 2026).
Where it shines
  • Consolidates 17+ payment gateways and marketplaces into one view
  • RFM segmentation with 11 automatic customer segments
  • Cheapest paid starting price on this list at $20/month
  • Bootstrapped since 2007, so no acquisition or shutdown risk hanging over it
Where it falls short
  • 15 to 30 minute lag before payments appear, per a verified Capterra review
  • No mobile app, and reviewers describe the mobile browser experience as rough
  • SaaS-specific metrics are weaker than its eCommerce features, per Capterra reviewers
  • Some reviewers report inconsistent support response times, up to three weeks in one case
6. Chartsy

Chartsy

Best for asking questions in plain English

Chartsy replaces preset dashboards with an AI chat box: type "MRR by plan for the last 6 months" and get a chart, no SQL, from a free 10-prompts-a-month tier.

Chartsy (an independent startup founded by Serena Prifti) takes a different bet from everything else here: instead of fixed dashboards, you ask questions in natural language against your Stripe, Paddle or BigCommerce data and it generates the chart and the trend commentary. For a founder who wants one specific answer ("which plan churned worst last quarter?") rather than another wall of tiles, that interaction model is genuinely faster.

Paddle support is also a real differentiator, since most Stripe-analytics tools ignore Paddle entirely. Exports produce clean PDFs and presentation-grade PNGs.

It is early. There is no meaningful G2 or Capterra review presence yet, so the cons here come from its own documentation rather than user reports: help.chartsy.app describes hourly sync for BigCommerce and Paddle Classic even though the homepage says real-time, paid pricing beyond a "from $19/month" reference sits behind a signup wall, and it is web-only.

The structural risk with any natural-language analytics layer is a confidently wrong answer, so spot-check its numbers against Stripe before you trust them in a board deck.

PricingFree tier (10 prompts/month); paid plans referenced from $19/month, but full Pro and Enterprise pricing is not publicly listed (as of July 2026).
Where it shines
  • Natural-language querying, no SQL or report configuration
  • Covers Paddle and BigCommerce as well as Stripe
  • Free tier with 10 prompts/month to test the interaction model
  • Clean PDF and PNG chart exports for decks
Where it falls short
  • Hourly sync for BigCommerce and Paddle Classic per its own help docs, despite real-time positioning
  • Paid tier pricing not published beyond a "from $19/month" reference; Pro and Enterprise are behind a signup wall
  • Nearly no independent review footprint on G2 or Capterra as of July 2026, so reliability is unproven
  • Web-only, no mobile apps
7. Maxio

Maxio

Best if you also need billing and revenue recognition

Maxio is a billing and rev-rec platform with analytics attached, from $599/month, and only makes sense if you are replacing your billing stack, not just your dashboard.

Maxio (the 2022 merger of SaaSOptics and Chargify, backed by Battery Ventures) is in a different weight class: usage-based billing, GAAP/IFRS revenue recognition, contract management and SaaS metrics in one system, with 85+ native integrations and unlimited seats. It serves 2,300+ customers managing roughly $10 billion in ARR, holds G2 Leader badges in six categories, and rates 4.3/5 across 829 G2 reviews.

If your real problem is that Stripe alone can no longer express your contracts, Maxio addresses that; no analytics-only tool on this page does.

As a Baremetrics replacement for a dashboard problem, it is overkill with sharp edges. G2 and Capterra reviewers report implementation stretching past ten months for smaller companies, support cases left open for six months to a year with support hours sold in paid blocks, and recurring invoice-accuracy problems on usage-based billing.

One reviewer reported churn and MRR metrics that were wrong for years. There are no mobile apps. At $599/month for the Grow tier it also costs more than every analytics-only option here combined would at the same MRR.

PricingGrow $599/month up to $100k MRR; Scale is custom-quoted above that. Implementation fees and optional add-on modules extra (as of July 2026).
Where it shines
  • Billing, GAAP/IFRS revenue recognition and metrics in one platform
  • 85+ native integrations including Salesforce, NetSuite and QuickBooks
  • Unlimited seats with no per-user charges
  • G2 Leader in six subscription-management categories (4.3/5, 829 reviews)
Where it falls short
  • Onboarding reported at 10+ months for smaller companies, per G2 and Capterra reviewers
  • Support complaints recur: cases open six months to a year, with support hours sold in paid blocks (G2)
  • Reviewers report recurring invoice and metric accuracy issues, including one account with wrong churn/MRR figures for years
  • No mobile apps, and $599/month is nearly 8x Mowt's starting price for the analytics use case alone
Run the numbers

What switching actually saves at $30k MRR

At $30k MRR ($360K ARR) you have just crossed out of Baremetrics Launch, so you are on Growth at $255/month; add Recover for dunning and you are at $384/month, or $4,608/year (July 2026 pricing). Mowt's Growth tier covers you to $50k MRR at $149/month, $1,788/year, and 20% less on annual billing.

That is $235/month back, about $2,820/year, enough to cover a decent chunk of a marketing budget. The honest caveat: Mowt has no Recover equivalent yet, so if failed-payment recovery is paying for itself, price that in before you move.

Lower down the curve the gap shrinks: at $10k MRR, Baremetrics Launch ($75) and Mowt Startup ($79) are within $4 of each other, and the decision is about freshness and mobile rather than money. Run your own numbers with the MRR calculator.

MRR calculator
Decision framework

How to choose by stage

Match the tool to your stage and stack, not to feature checklists: free until analytics decisions cost real money, realtime once you watch revenue daily, and a billing suite only when Stripe alone stops fitting your contracts.

Pre-$10k MRR: take ProfitWell Metrics and pay nothing. Batch delays and a stale UI do not matter yet, and every dollar belongs in the product. ChartMogul's free tier is the alternative if you already know you will need cohort depth later.

$10k to $100k MRR on Stripe only: this is Mowt's home turf. You are checking numbers daily, probably from your phone, and a 2-hour sync means finding out about a big churn event after your competitor-of-a-founder-friend has already told you. $79 to $249/month at this stage undercuts Baremetrics with Recover attached.

Multiple billing sources, or over $120K ARR and still wanting free: ChartMogul. It is the only tool here that genuinely normalizes Stripe plus Chargebee plus PayPal into one number, and the free tier covers you until $120K ARR. Accept the 10-minute window and watch the pricing as you scale. EU finance teams past $1M ARR who live in Pennylane or NetSuite should shortlist Fincome instead.

Billing, rev-rec and metrics in one contract: Maxio, with eyes open about the onboarding timelines its own reviewers report. If you are only shopping for a dashboard, do not buy a billing platform to get one.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

What is the best Baremetrics alternative in 2026?

For Stripe-only SaaS wanting realtime data and full mobile apps, Mowt (from $79/month). For multi-source billing and cohorts, ChartMogul (free under $120K ARR). For a free dashboard, ProfitWell Metrics. Pick by the gap that sent you searching: freshness, price or mobile.

Is Baremetrics actually real-time?

No. Baremetrics' own help center describes a 2-hour data sync cycle, so subscription events can take up to 2 hours to appear on your dashboard. Tools built on Stripe webhooks, like Mowt, show the same events in seconds.

What is the best free Baremetrics alternative?

ProfitWell Metrics, still fully free four years after Paddle acquired it for $200M in 2022. ChartMogul is also free under $120K ARR and has stronger cohort tools. Both update in batches rather than live, which is the main trade you make for $0.

Does Baremetrics have an Android app?

No. As of June 2026 Baremetrics ships a native iOS app (iOS 15+) but nothing on the Play Store. On this list, only Mowt offers iOS and Android with full feature parity; ChartMogul and ProfitWell have both platforms but with limitations reviewers and store listings document.

Is ProfitWell still free after the Paddle acquisition?

Yes. ProfitWell Metrics remains completely free as of July 2026, operating as a funnel into Paddle's paid billing and retention products. The paid side is another story: one long-time customer on G2 reported a 10x price increase on enterprise pricing.

What happened to QuantLedger?

QuantLedger, a Stripe analytics tool with ML churn prediction, shut down in late 2025 or early 2026. Its sunset page gives no reason and points to the founder's development agency rather than a successor product. If you see it recommended in an older listicle, that list is stale.

How much does switching from Baremetrics to Mowt save?

At $30k MRR, Baremetrics Growth plus Recover runs $384/month against Mowt's $149 Growth tier, saving about $2,820/year (July 2026 pricing). Below $15k MRR the base prices nearly match ($75 vs $79), so the switch is about realtime data and mobile, not cost.

Do any of these alternatives replace Baremetrics Recover for dunning?

Not directly. Recover is a real, shipped dunning product, and none of the analytics-first tools here match it; Mowt's dunning tools are coming soon, not available today. If failed-payment recovery drives your Baremetrics ROI, keep Recover running until your replacement flow is live.

Can I run two analytics tools on the same Stripe account?

Yes. These tools connect to Stripe read-only, so they never conflict with each other or with your billing. Running your current tool and a trial in parallel for a week, then diffing both against the Stripe dashboard, is the single most reliable way to evaluate a switch.

Why do MRR numbers differ between these tools?

Each tool normalizes annual plans, discounts, proration and refunds differently, so small MRR gaps between two tools on the same Stripe account are normal, not a bug. Check each vendor's definition against our MRR glossary entry before deciding whose figure to trust.

Which Baremetrics alternative is best for a European finance team?

Fincome, a French platform with native Pennylane and NetSuite integrations, unlimited seats and automated KPI calculation from $4,500/year. It suits finance teams past $1M ARR; below that, the price is hard to justify and Capterra reviewers say as much.

Is ChartMogul really free under $120K ARR?

Yes. ChartMogul's Launch tier is free until you pass $120K ARR and includes core metrics, the most generous free entry in the category. Past that, Starter runs $59 to $699/month on annual billing as ARR scales ($69 to $849 billed monthly), and G2 reviewers note prices have risen repeatedly over time.
